The right tire tread can make all the difference in a winter tire. We designed the Blizzak ICE tread with more sipes and harder blocks - raised sections of the tire's rubber - to improve its grip and braking on snowy and icy roads. The design also helps the tire withstand the harshest winter conditions to continuously maintain excellent performance.

Independent tests show that the Blizzak ICE provides a lower noise level than the average studded tire thanks to an optimal tread pattern. 2 Although the tire tread has high blocks, the grooves provide better air circulation to reduce cabin noise.

Blizzak ICE is a winter tire designed to help you feel safe and prepared for any winter road situation, especially on icy roads. Tire skidding occurs when a thin film of water forms on the ice, preventing the tires from contacting the road surface. To prevent this, the Blizzak ICE uses a multi-cell compound that absorbs water released from the ice to ensure firm grip.
