The large-aperture and excellent optical performance that this lens offers is ideal for low-light photography and enriched creative picture composition possibilities. The new lens delivers pin sharp results and remarkable contrasts throughout the entire focal length range. With an aperture of F/2.8 impressive photos with smooth, even bokeh (background blur), can be shot helping to emphasize subjects by means of a very shallow depth of field.
This lens is equipped with a tri-axial image stabilizer called vibration Compensation ( VC), a Tamron proprietary development. The VC feature minimizes the effects of camera vibrations and shake of hand-held photography. The lens offers more photographic possibilities for shots at longer shutter speeds, making it ideally suitable for " Available Light" photography in low-light conditions.
Please note that Di II lenses are made for the exclusive use on digital SLR cameras with image sensors smaller than 24mm x 16mm. Di II lenses cannot be used together with a full format or 35mm SLR camera, as their image sensors are not able to cover the entire area of full format resulting in dark corners of the (i.e. vignetting becomes noticeable).
