Its width of 21.5 centimetres makes this CD receiver of the X-HM 36D a real space saver – but on the features Pioneer did not save, though. The built-in Wi-Fi and LAN port connects the micro-components to the Internet where it opens up whole new musical worlds: thousands of radio stations, clearly presented and constantly updated by TuneIn. Or Spotify, even though it requires subscription, that provides free access to more than 25 million titles at all times, with daily updated tips, playlists, new albums directly on the release date and a thousand ways to discover new music. Whoever wants to listen to a CD or a local station on DAB, can do that too. Smart phones and tablets can also stream directly to the X-HM 36D via Bluetooth. Its two-way speakers truly turn it into a fully fledged sound system in a timelessly noble brushed-aluminium look. Really super that the sound is complemented by the noble optics.
