You'll always know what settings are being used on your versatile SoundBird V1 as the built-in buttons are backlit. The first button activates the high-pass filter, which removes unwanted low-frequency sounds such as the rumble of HVAC systems, footsteps, and traffic noise. The second button activates the -10dB pad, which allows you to capture louder sounds without distortion. The third button is On/Off which controls the internal AA battery. When the SoundBird V1 is powered by external phantom power, the On/Off button lights up green. Lights up blue when powered by internal AA battery. When the battery is discharged, the LED will turn red. The microphone also remembers the button settings after turning it off and on.

Necessary accessories included
There are some useful accessories in the box, such as a premium adjustable shock mount that allows you to attach the SoundBird V1 to the camera shoe or to the boom pole and stand.
