80 Plus
The power supply certificate defines a certain standard that characterizes the device. More precisely, it is about its efficiency, which translates into efficiency and comfort of work. The efficiency of the power supply at a given load is measured. In the case of the 80 Plus certificate, both for 20%, 50% and 100% load, the efficiency should be at least 80%. Certified power supplies are recommended to all users, especially those with more powerful hardware configurations.

No modular cabling
In this type of power supplies, users cannot disconnect cables that will not be used to operate the computer. When choosing this type of power supply, remember about the appropriate casing, which will allow for proper cabling arrangement to avoid the tangle effect. However, much more order will be provided by a modular power supply in which unnecessary cables can be easily removed. The choice, of course, depends on the user's personal preferences. Many power supplies on the market still do not offer modular cabling.

ATX
This is the most universal and most common standard of computer power supplies. It has found wide application. It will work well with both simpler configurations intended for office work and gaming devices. The height and width of this type of power supplies are specified in the standard. However, the length depends on the power of the device and increases proportionally. This is an important issue when selecting the appropriate housing, which should be adapted to the size of the power supply.

Active cooling
Active cooling is very efficient and perfectly ensures proper operation of the computer. Moreover, it is now standard. Its disadvantage is that it is slightly noisier. The slight noise can be reduced by installing larger diameter fans. This size will make it rotate slower. It is also worth looking for devices on the market equipped with fans whose rotation speed is adjusted to the temperature of the device. As the temperature increases, the faster the rotation.

SCP
The power supply is responsible for supplying energy to the computer's components. Voltage parameters fluctuate in the power grid. SCP (Short Circuit Protection) is short circuit protection. It is activated when the resistance in the circuit is below 0.1 Ω. This protection can be found in all new and older power supplies. As soon as a short circuit is detected, the power supply will be immediately disconnected. Thanks to this, we can rest assured about the components of our computer.

OPP
OPP (Over Power Protection) protects the entire power supply against overload, not limited to individual lines. Exactly the same protection that can be found under a different name is OLP - Over Load Protection. In both cases, the power will be turned off when the power consumed exceeds the total power of the power supply.

UVP
A computer power supply is an extremely important device that is responsible for supplying energy to components. When purchasing, it is worth paying attention to individual security features. UVP (Under Voltage Protection) protects against too low voltage on the input lines. Although this fault does not affect possible damage to components, it may negatively affect their optimal operation. It is definitely worth choosing a power supply with UVP. This will certainly improve the comfort of using your computer.

OVP
OVP (Over Voltage Protection) provides protection against too high output voltage. It is activated when the voltage is 15% higher than the nominal value. The protection operates on each power supply output line and is required by the ATX12V standard. This significantly reduces the risk of failure of powered components.

AFC
Proper operation of the power supply and minimizing the risk of failure are very important elements that will allow comfortable work at the computer. One way to protect yourself is AFC. This is an automatic fan speed control system. Thanks to this, we can count on optimal operation of the power supply, appropriate for the current power consumption. Moreover, the presence of AFC on board the device means that noise is kept to a minimum. It is definitely worth choosing a power supply with this useful protection.

SIP
To significantly reduce the risk of failure, choose a power supply with appropriate protection. SIP (Surge & inrush protection) protects the power supply against surge currents. Violent impulses can come from the power grid and inductive loads. Therefore, when completing a computer configuration, it is worth ensuring that the power supply is equipped with this type of protection.

PFC system active
The PFC circuit allows for power factor correction to minimize losses in transmission lines. Active systems adapt to the conditions in a given network. This directly affects the ability to achieve high performance of the power supply. The power factor range is from 0.9 to 0.99. This is not a parameter that would significantly affect the comfort of using the computer. However, it is a more ecological solution, which may be important for many customers.
