The Lee Polyester series filters are designed for use with the Lee GelSnap filter holder, but can also be used with other systems because the filters are easy to cut. The filter measures 100 × 100 mm.
The Lee Polyester 87 infrared filter is a special filter used with both digital cameras and special infrared films. This almost opaque filter blocks visible light (including ultraviolet light) up to 730nm, allowing you to capture a scene that is normally invisible to the human eye. Due to the peculiarity of infrared photography, the filter factor is extremely variable and is highly dependent on light conditions as well as ISO sensitivity.
The filter is often used in forensics, medical photography, flora studies, artistic purposes, etc. In normal photography, this filter can be combined with Y (K2), O (G), R (25A) and other filters to adjust the contrast and color effect.
