ONYX BOOX Note 3 is a device for reading e-books with a high resolution screen E Ink Mobius Carta. The model has a screen with a diagonal of 10.3 inches with dual touch controls, MOON Light 2 frontlight and support for the SNOW Field function. A large, eye-friendly display, a powerful processor combined with 4GB of RAM and dual touch controls are optimal tools for reading PDF and DjVu files. What is E Ink Mobius Carta?
E Ink Mobius Carta are high-resolution (227 dpi) screens made using e-paper technology, featuring a plastic backing and lighter weight. The use of plastic makes these screens less fragile than conventional glass-backed screens. Reading from such a screen is as comfortable as from a regular paper page. The power consumption of the screen occurs only when changing the image.
What is SNOW Field?
SNOW Field is an operating mode of the screen, allowing to reduce the number of artifacts on the screen within partial refresh. If this function is on, full refresh of the screen is not needed.
Screen frontlight system
The MOON Light 2 technology enables one to use the device in the dark or under poor lighting conditions. When this function is in use, soft luminescence of the screen comfortable for reading in dark rooms is being generated. It also has a color temperature control and, thanks to the use of Flicker-Free technology, the front-light system is perfectly smooth.
What is MOON Light 2?
The latest researches have shown that blue light prevents the production of melatonin (daily rhythms regulator), which is necessary for a person to sleep. Therefore, after reading on a glowing screen of an ordinary tablet or smartphone, it is often difficult to fall asleep. MOON Light 2 allows you to adjust the brightness of cold and warm LED lights independently, choosing at will white light for reading during the daytime, and more yellow for reading before sleeping. The Flicker-Free technology completely eliminates shimmering of the LEDs used in this screen frontlight system. This is due to the use of a DC power supply.The Flicker-Free technology significantly reduces discomfort for sight and eye fatigue and decreases the chances of headache, caused by long use of the eReader.

Display E Ink Mobius Carta 10.3 inches has a lighter substrate and higher contrast than any screen in this class. It allows you to read in bright sunlight and has a high redraw speed. The absence of flickering backlight and the principle of image formation using electronic ink makes reading comfortable for the eyes. The multi-touch touchscreen provides easy-to-read control: taps, page shifting, two-finger zoom, mark up in text and use additional functions.

Format Support
The BOOX software allows you to open many different text and image formats. While reading, you can change the style and size of the font, the position of the pages, add bookmarks and arbitrarily scale documents.
Dual touch controls
The Note 3 has two touch layers. Above the surface of the screen is a capacitive sensor with multi-touch support. You can flip through books and zoom documents with intuitive movements of two fingers. In addition, under the E Ink panel is the Wacom touch layer. Thanks to this, you can make notes in the margins and sketches using the special stylus included in the kit. The stylus recognizes 4096 degrees of pressure and allows you to draw with increased accuracy.
Additional screen protection
Protective glass from the famous Japanese manufacturer ASAHI is placed on top of the E Ink screen and protects it from scratches and other damages. The new glass eliminated the need for additional edges, so the screen is flush with the body of the device. This makes the work with the e-book more comfortable, and its appearance more modern. In addition, a special coating reduces the likelihood of glare on the screen.
Outstanding technical specifications
The 8-core processor with 1.8 GHz clock rate and 4 GB of RAM ensures comfortable work with difficult documents. And 64 GB of nonvolatile memory allows the user to store a whole library.
Dictionaries
The book's software allows you to install additional dictionary databases in the Stardict format at your wish or to download offered dictionaries automatically when you connect to Wi-Fi in the dictionary settings.
