Replaces a 36V battery. Two 18V Li-ion batteries can be installed on the device to provide power for the powerful 36V DC electric motor system. When using 2 batteries with different capacities (1.5Ah and 3.0Ah) or the same batteries with different charges (one 100% charged, the other half empty) - the device stops working when the battery with a lower charge is completely discharged.

Brushless motor
BL Brushless motors are compact, do not heat up from friction caused by brushes, light and durable. Designed for intensive and long-term work without stopping. BL motors are electronically controlled to optimize battery power consumption for up to 50% longer run time on a single charge. Battery power is also used more efficiently because it is not consumed by carb friction in the engine. Brushless engines require no regular maintenance as the only wear parts are the engine bearings. An electronic system protects the tool from overload: immediately turns off the motor if it stops. Advantages compared to carbon engines of identical power: lighter weight, more compact dimensions, energy consumption is reduced up to 40%, twice as long service life, low noise, longer operating time.

The SOFT NO LOAD function automatically reduces the number of engine revolutions if the load on the engine decreases. Reduces tool body vibration and power consumption during idling, thereby reducing the amount of vibration generated by the operator's hands, overall noise and extending working time.

Protection against water and dust.
The additional protection technology of Makita devices protects the internal components of the device from environmental influences. Devices with the XPT mark are intended for use outdoors and in harsh environments. The devices have improved protection against dust and water splashes.
